Women's Squad

Women's Squad

Row on the Liverpool docks and join like-minded women who want to row, erg, race and be social.

Key info about the women's squad

We have a large women’s rowing squad based in Liverpool that has access to 1.7km in the heart of the city.

We sent women’s crews to Women’s Henley 2023 and 2025, as well as National Champs 2024.

We also have a buzzing social scene with a designated men’s social secretary organising walks, trips to the pubs and more.

Meet Charlotte, your women's captain at Mersey. She's got experience rowing and volunteering at her home club in York, as well as a few years under her belt now at Mersey RC.

  • Weds pm (6-8pm) – ergs
  • Sat am and Sun am – water

If you become part of a race crew, you will be able to train outside of session times. Coached sessions will be every Tuesday bare minimum.

Meet the squad

We’ve got a growing women’s rowing squad that trains multiple times per week both on and off of the water. With 20-30 regular women’s squad members, we’re making exciting plans for the upcoming season.

Given our prime location, we have access to 1.7km of dock straight and we don’t need to stop rowing at winter thanks to lights from the city.

Want to learn to row?

Not quite ready to join the women’s squad? That’s ok! We run loads of beginner rowing courses throughout the year.

Hit your goals

Want to race? Want to have a paddle on a Saturday morning? Want to put down watts on the erg? Or just want to meet some new people in Liverpool?

Whatever your goal for joining Mersey Rowing Club, you’ll find a space for you here.

No matter your skill or ability, there is a crew here for you to get started with.
