How do I join Mersey RC?
If you already have rowing experience, then you can contact the relevant squad captain to join.
If you are looking to Learn to Row first, then you will need to register for our next course. We run several courses per year so there will be something to suit your schedule soon!
How much is your membership?
It’s £29 per month for a full price membership. We also offer concession membership. Our junior membership is also much more competitively priced.
If you would like to join rowing but are looking for work, or unemployed, we can support you to continue to be a member of the club. We believe getting out on the water is more important than a monthly membership.
Can I row over summer?
We get lots of University students back home for the summer who want to continue rowing while they’re here.
We are more than happy to accommodate this and can either do a monthly membership or a quarterly membership to suit you.
When does the season kick off?
The season starts in September, but we take new rowers on all year around.
Do you race competitively?
Yes. We have a range of rowers at our club. Some are recreational, while others are competitive. We try to accommodate everybody.
We have recently sent crews to Women’s Henley, HoRR, Pairs Head and more. We also race locally at events like those in Runcorn, Warrington, Chester and more.

Find your crew
From juniors (age 11-18), and seniors (age 18-mid 30’s) to masters (35+), we have a range of crews to suit you.
Our senior rowers are made up of young professional ranging from 19 to 35. While MasA starts at 27+, our masters crew which was newly formed in 2024, tends to be made up mostly by those aged 35-65.
Our growing junior squad is a great pathway to rowing at university.
