Mersey RC History Today

It's been an interesting few weeks for MRC history.  First we were told of a set of commemorative oars found in a loft in Leicestershire, then we were sent a silver goblet, dated 1886.  The goblet was kindly donated by Mr Peter Bennett and had been awarded to the winners of the junior fours at Mersey RC Regatta.  See our period photos page for pictures... click here for Pics

Liverpool Community Regatta - 20th June 09

This year's pubs and clubs style regatta is being held from 3pm on Saturday 20th June.

If you have a group of four people who have never rowed before but would like to try, then get in touch... We're looking for interested groups to take part in our annual beginner's regatta.  Basic training will be given before the racing begins, so all you need to do is find four people and come along on the day.

The row was completed in record time, using 15ft four oared boats.  City council leader Warren Bradley said: "The Mersey ferry is central to the fascinating tale of how Liverpool developed down the centuries.
