Men's Squad

Welcome to Mersey Men's Squad

Men's Captain : Adam Hasrris

Men's Vice :

Mersey Men's Squad comprises of sociable group of men. The current squad includes an Intermediate (IM3) crew and a number of Novice crews which train together to encourage progression and squad integration.

Crews train multi-disciplines, from sweep rowing to sculling, from single sculls all the way up to 8's. The current squad training schedule incorporates water sessions on Tuesday & Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Land based training (erg's, runs, circuits) take place on a Monday for those who wish to attend.

Training sessions are optional for those who do not wish to compete regularly and would prefer a more social boat. These boats  regularly go out on the same nights as well as a Friday fun row, where members are encouraged to come down and row in mixed boats with those who they don't normally row with. These crews not only include rowers from the men's squad, but other members from the Women's Squad and Liverpool JMU University Rowing Club.

We are proud to be a sociable, friendly group of rowers and will often gather for a drink, or pre-race breakfast. We are always welcoming and always encouraging new members of all skill levels to drop in and  join us for an outing or two, meet and get to know the club members before committing to membership.

The men's squad is a competitive squad at heart, however we always welcome rowers who are keen to be part of a squad environment but can't commit to racing. The squad race in a number of events year round, form head races up to 6.8km like the prestigious Head of the River Race in London, to short regattas (up to 2km) across the country.
