Welcome to Mersey Rowing Club!

The only open membership rowing club in Liverpool. Founded 1854

Mersey Rowing Club was founded in 1854 and is Liverpool's only open membership rowing club.   Based at Queen's Dock, Mariner's Wharf, Liverpool, we are situated in the heart of the City and enjoy the benefit of rowing in the historic Liverpool South Docks.  We're a welcoming, fun club of rowers and scullers, who row for recreation as well as for competition.   Our members include people of all ages, from all walks of life, which helps us to maintain a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere.

We're always on the look out for new members, so whether you're an experienced rower or an absolute beginner why not get in touch to find out more?   Simply email Mersey RC Captain Ian Marr on ianmarr@merseyrc.com   for further details.

"Monks In Boats":  On Sunday, 17th June, Mersey RC were proud to take part in a recreation of the original crossing of the River Mersey, which was first undertaking by Benedictine Monks.  The event was part of the 800th Birthday Celebration for the City of Liverpool, marking the signing of Liverpool's Charter by King John in 1207. The row was completed in record time, using 15ft four oared boats.  City council leader Warren Bradley said: “The Mersey ferry is central to the fascinating tale of how Liverpool developed down the centuries. It’s fantastic that our maritime community is playing such a key part in celebrating our 800th year.”
