About

Mersey Rowing Club was founded in 1854 and is Liverpool’s only open membership rowing club.

Based at Queen’s Dock, Mariner’s Wharf, Liverpool, we are situated in the heart of the city. We’re a welcoming, fun club of rowers and scullers, who row for recreation as well as for competition. Our members include people of all ages, from all walks of life, which helps us to maintain a relaxed, enthusiastic atmosphere.

Club Facilities

Mersey have a range of rowing and sculling boats for members to use. Included in these are eights, coxed fours, doubles, quads, pairs, singles and virus training sculls. We have sheltered rooms for indoor training and a number of Concept II ergs.

Mersey RC’s boat house is located in Liverpool Queen’s dock and shares facilities with a number of other water based sports, which provides a lively friendly atmosphere.

The water sports centre balcony is a great place to watch events on the water, and the centre café provides a lovely spot to have a warm drink in the colder months of the year.

Membership

Here at Mersey all new members are required to complete a membership form before boating from the Club.

You will be able to have a short trial period to see if Mersey is the right club for you.
